iTunes will not play purchased content since 10.2 upgrade
Since upgrading iTunes to 10.2 ( and it is still the same in 10.2.1 ) I am not able to play a large proportion of purchased music and movies. If I try to play a purchased item, simply nothing happens. No errors, no play progress. Some music I purchased a long time ago does play, as does most things I have added from CD. My iTunes library is on an external hard drive. I can see all the items in my library. I have tried de-authorising and re-authorising my computer. I have also tried changing my iTunes Library file to a previous version. If I select a music file that does not play in iTunes and the 'Show in Finder', it does show the correct file. I have also noticed that the same music files do not play on my iPhone 4.
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong or how to fix this ?

Thanks for the suggestion, but the computer is already authorised, and when I use the suggested menu item it tells me that this computer is already 1 or my authorised computers.
I was having the same issue. I tried the suggestion to Authorize my computer. Got the message saying it was already authorized. BUT it fixed the problem! All my movies play again.
