Flash for PowerPc

Question

Flash for PowerPc

I had to reinstall osx on my powermac and i lost a bunch of stuff, flash being one of them. I can't find Flash for PowerPC ANYWHERE! no one has a link anywhere????

powermac G5, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Hi there,

Download this...

http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive.zip

Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically then double click on that file.

Look for the fp 10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 10 1r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer10 1r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy! 😟

Contrary to popular belief, 10.2 and 10.3 beta will also work... you need to slipstream the 10.1 with 10.2 or 10.3 - look up on the i-net: How to get 10.2 flash to run on PPC macs.

I am having the same problem but the suggested fix didn't work. I followed the instructions exactly, and did it twice to make sure.

I got a window that said ''This instillation failed.'' That happened at 95%.

I tried the other one - the debugger version. that one failed at 40%.

I have PowerPC iMac G5 OS 10.5.8

I use Firefox. I don't know what version to run but today it upgraded itself to 3.6.26.

Using Safari doesn't help. I can't use the Flash player on either browser. Safari is a more reliable less quirky browser but I still like Firefox better and use it until it gets too slow.

I also have a Powerbook G4 laptop with the same problem. I haven't tried your fix on that one. I am mostly concerned about having it\\this fixed on my desktop computer for accessing Facebook and videos online.

Hi Pati,

The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a later version installed.

Try safari again whan you do the below flash trick I think you'll go back..

Also try tenfourfox..it'll give all the new firefox features and more speed than your old FF..

What OS is on the PB, I put 10.5 on my daughters PB but it was anything but nice so I went back to to 10.4

I tried this but it says a newer version of Adobe Flash Player is already on my computer, even though I've run the uninstaller multiple times. What should I do? I'm trying to get Flash to work again on my mac os x 10.5.8

For the past few months I've been selecting the "Run this time" option in Google Chrome for flash player, but I had to restart my computer today and now it's all messed up... 😟

Hey guys in case you haven't heard, there's a newer hack for flash player 11.5 on powerpc. I've been using it the past week and it's fooled most sites into thinking you actually have the current player.
