Very poor performance

I have been running iTunes on my Mac and have been having some issues. Any time that I attempt to update my podcasts or apps, I get a spinning beach-ball. iTunes then hangs for about a minute and then eventually it stops hanging and I am able to use it. Does anyone have this problem or know how to fix it. My library is NOT that large (less than 10gb).

Hi,

I get a spinning beach-ball.

A myriad of issues can be the cause of the SBBOD (spinning beachball of death)...

Help here for The Spinning Beach Ball of Death

Make sure your system software is up to date. Click your Apple menu / Software Update

And check to make sure there's enough free space on the startup disk.

Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. *Make sure you always have a minimum of 15% free disk space.*
