can't find the file coreservices

Hi,
I couldn't find in system/library/ the file coreservices how could I refind it?

I've noticed the CoreServices folder is hidden in OS X 10.8.3; therefore, I found a quick work-around to get to the folder and open Archive Utility.

Enter - /System/Library/CoreServices

Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.

On my Mac CoreServices is one of 61 items in /System/Library. I would expect that a Mac without that CoreServices entry wouldn't run very well. What are you doing to try to see it? And I'm curious: Why do you want to find it?

Well, it is a tremendous resource for icons, especially... /CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Of course, if you muck around in there moving or deleting items you could do some damage. Best to steer clear unless you know what you're doing.

This is a strange situation, but after checking, I don't have a CoreServices folder either, and my computer is running just fine. Did a recent OS update possibly move it around?

It hasn't been moved. There are several libraries - make sure you are looking at the library inside the System folder:

HD>System>Library>CoreServices

Really strange...
Just checked that path and still no CoreServices folder. :/

You're looking in the wrong Library folder. It's / System /Library/CoreServices.

Poor choice of words on my part, CoreServices isn't hidden you just have to go to the Systems folder like Linc Davis stated in the previous reply.
