I just upgraded to 10.6.7

Now I can't see other computers on the network.

Background.

I have just set up a home network using Samba. It has been working great. I saw the smb updates and thought wonderful! it will make it better. However now I can't see the server computer on the network in the shared section of the finder.

two things.

1) I can access it via go to server "smb:// xxx-xxx-x-xx"

*edit - This does not seem to be working anymore.

2) The other mac in the house sees the server computer in the shared section of the finder and can connect no problem

Frustration hasn't set in... yet.

Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run _*Repair Disk*_ from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select *Disk Utility.*

Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click *First Aid.*
Click _*Repair Disk.*_
Restart your computer when done.

Repair permissions after you reach the desktop- http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751 and restart your computer.
