Why is the iPad so slippery?

I have the same problem. The back is just so smooth, it's tough to hang on to.
Many times I'll lay in bed and try to prop the iPad up against a pillow.. It just slides off.
I picked up a cheap black rubber case at a local discount store for $3 that works perfectly.. Except that it pretty much ruins the aesthetic value.. The minimalist design lost in a sheath of rubber.
Didnt have this problem with the iPhone 3GS or my iPhone 4.. But then they're small enough I can cradle them in one hand.
I also agree the iPad 2 is as slick as slime. You have to hold it good or "get the cover" which is bs. They should redesign it because it's just poor design to make them that way. Bath tub stickers are gonna be cut and stuck on the sides if mine. People shouldn't be forced to feel the need to cover ALL the apple products "to protect" them. Good grief!!!
Get a thin rubber case that doesn't add much bulk. That way it feels similar to if you're holding just the iPad but makes it so it won't slip out of your hands and you get some extra protection.
I know you are going to say get a case or something, but why should I?

Yeah, I had this with my ipad1. Just didn't want the added bulk again. I dunno, I just want to start holding my mobile Apple products. Not hide them all the time in cases. đ
You can whine to us which achieves nothing or actually do something useful.
You can buy a case of try this:

I found this to be true as well. Anyone who doesn't must have sticky fingers or a sticky iPad. I bought a survivor from Walmart. Bulky but made the iPad very easy to handle.
Hi
Even an iPhone is safer in a double sided leather case.
When its time to sell if they are unmarked like new
You get a good resale price .
