Quark Xpress 8 keyboard shortcuts don't work

hi all,
i have a Power Mac G5-2.3, Leopard 10.5.8, Quark Xpress 8.5, "Italian Pro" keyboard, and italian Xpress .
the keyboard shortcut to reduce 1 point the font size doesn't work (CMD + ALT + SHIFT + ' )
the other one to increase one point works like a charm, like other related to font size.
I tried to upgrade to xpress 8.5, delete any custom preferences but nothing works.

Booting from Tiger everything works well

How can i fix this?

Did you recently change your keyboard language? This sometimes causes problems of this type.

No, the keyboard and the setting is always the same.

The same combination of keys (CMD + ALT + SHIFT + ') works for Xpress run other commands, such as zoom in if there is any selected object or text ...

It 's only function with the selected text to not go.

But with Tiger all ok...

I confirm that the problem is Leopard 10.5.8

On a MacBook with the same operating system does the same thing ...
QuarkXpress 8 is unable to run this shortcut (CMD ALT+SHIFT' with selected text, to decrease font)

That depends - some might argue that the problem is Quark Xpress 8. Might be worth seeing if they issued a patch or some description. Did you check out their support forum?

... Whereas the same program that works well both with 10.4.11 with 10.6.6,
I think depends on OS 10.5.8.
I wrote the Quark forum but I had no answers.

Amazing that this problem is first mentioned now. I've had this problem since os10.5.8 together with quark 7. (Jan. 2010) I have both spoken to those at a Mac store, tried the short cuts with an extended keyboard and have had a long live chat with Quark and both blame the problem on the other one but none have a solution or seem to know what I'm talking about. Now I have just upgraded to quark 8 and have had os 10.6 for a while but am disappointed to see the problem wasn't solved with the new quark. I too hadn't made any changes except to upgrade to 10.5.8. When the problem began.

So you know the problem is not in quark 8. I too would love a solution.

Ok so read around and did sort of find a solution. My computer is a German one, and under edit> program language I changed the language to German and surprise!, the short cut to enlage reduce text and pictures worked! But back to English and international English, not. Bummer!

So Clapat, try changing you quark program language and see what happens, maybe the Italian thing is the problem.
