Can I turn off my wireless at night?

Tired of arguing with my teenager about about school night web surfing at late hours. I want to disable the router each night at his bed time. Short of pulling the plug, is there a way to kick him off at will?

Thanks,

Many Macs all shapes and sizes

In the AIrPort Utility panel where you configure MAC address control, you can add a schedule control. I'd give you more details, but I'm away from my AirPort base station at the moment, but you might start with the Advanced panel.

You can establish certain times of the day that computers are allowed to connect using the Timed Access feature on the AirPort Extreme.

Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
Click the Access Control tab/label below the row of icons
Select Timed Access

For detailed instructions, click the Help menu at the top of the screen and enter the following into the search box

It works just fine, but only for wireless connections, not for hard wired ethernet connections. And, you need to remember to setup all the computers that will be connecting to establish Timed Access for each one of them.

For example, you would probably want to setup your computer for "unlimited access". Maybe the teenager's computer would be setup for 8 AM to 11 PM daily and a bit longer on weekends. Its up to you to decide.

You'll have to either physically look at the device to get the info from the label on the back or bottom (always best), or try to figure out the info from looking at AirPort Utility > Manual Setup > Wireless Clients.

This window will display devices by their AirPort ID and IP address.

If you know your AirPort ID on your Mac, you may be able to figure out which AirPort ID is associated with his Mac.

If he's using a Mac, you want to retrieve the AirPort ID since that is what the filter will be based on.
