Printing issues 10.6.7

I have anomalous font issues since installing 10.6.7.

Fonts render correctly with InDesign, but printing from Word 12.2.8 or Pages 4.0.5 gives incorrect rendering with some fonts. I am trying Times Roman, Arial, Myriad pro and Minion Pro, all OpenType.

Minion Pro does not render correctly. It look good if I preview the print as PDF in Preview.

Printer HP LJ1200.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

I know next to nothing about font issues, but I had one once. No matter what I did, was all messed up. What turned out was I had a "bad" font file in my bucket of fonts. I removed it and everything was fine again.

So, my only thought was: Do or have you installed any fonts?

The only change I have made is to upgrade 10.6.6 to 10.6.7.

I have run further tests, printing a postscript file from Pages. The Postscript file has a font error when I open in in Acrobat

Stack:
/Font
-dict-
/RVOFMJ+MyriadPro-Regular

The font validates correctly in Font Book and prints from InDesign. It occurs to me whatever creates the print file from Word and Pages is corrupting the font.

I assume InDesign uses Distiller which all works correctly, Adobe throughout.

I have exactly the same problem - besides that I already had it in 10.6.6
The thing is that myriad pro regular is called myriad pro standard in word 2011 and I think that this messes up the system.
When I use some other myriad pro font everything goes fine - the error only appears when I use myriad pro regular.

I hope that somebody can help me with this.

after installing 10.6.7, text will not be printed correctly on canon iP4850 printer using preview.
with OS 10.6.6 there was (and is when starting from backup) no such problem with printing text from preview.
using acrobat reader 10, printing is correct also with the latest OS.
it seems that apple has to fix a bug in preview asap!

I get exactly the same error messages when using Distiller after updating to 10.6.7.
I also get issues with fonts becoming un-embedded from PDFs after editing them.

There were several "security fixes" to fonts in 10.6.7, and they seem to have made things a whole lot worse.
Please report this to Apple on their feedback page.

Exactly the same problem here with an Canon iPF 700! Everything we try to print comes without fonts! I tested it on three machines (with preview, acrobat, archicad) with 10.6.7 (10.6.6 was no problem). I installed the printer-driver again but it didn't solved the problem.
Any ideas?

As I said, it seems to be a bug in 10.6.7. You'll have to downgrade and report the problem to Apple on their feedback page.

Another site reports that the problems may just require resetting the font cache. In that case, a Safe Boot would clear it up. Press the shift key just after the startup tone, and release it when the screen turns gray. It will take a while for the computer to start. After it does, you can restart it again.
