Green bar on “finder" icon

Hey guys,
i know this is a minor problem, yet i still find it irritating that there is a green bar above the finder icon in the menu. Do any of you know how to get rid of this, and to restore the old icon? I´m new to mac...
thanks in advance,
Hendrik

OK then, that's good news!

Let's try this...
Go to /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences and move these 2 files to your Desktop / com.apple.dock.plist

and com.apple.dock.db.plist
Then restart. This will give you the default Dock, so you'll have to reset yours the way you like it)

If that doesn't help try starting up Safe Mode (It will take more time to startup in Safe Mode because it runs a directory check.)

If your Finder icon looks correctly that way, go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items, and remove them. Boot normally and test. If not go to/Users/yourname/Library /Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/ Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving/Users/yourname/Library/ Fonts to your desktop and restarting.

Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.
Let us know.
