Q: Flash causes cascading failures

I'm finding often with my MBA 13" (10.6.7) that if I run a flash app in Safari, at some point safari will freeze, then finder freezes and i can't launch activity manager or spotlight. The only fix is to hold the power button down and then reset NVRAM and PRAM.

Short of not running any flash apps, is there is a fix?

    Keep your flash updated http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
Use Firefox for Flash stuff whenever you can. Firefox has loads of useful tweaks not found on Safari (including Open In Safari). Go through all the settings and you'll see what I mean. You can even make it open online PDFs in internal in-frame Adobe (rather than download). I love Safari (serious) but FF can take much more of a bruising, AND when you delete all it's files it leaves no trace. You can quickly reinstall.
