The link you refer to may only work in older versions of Safari as it was written in response to version 4 Safari question and in Safari 10 (current version) there are many updates. a couple of points, e.g., things to keep in mind in this regard about the current version:

Hi, yes there is a way to turn on Privte Browsing when you enter Safari, but you have to enter a shortcut, like Shift > Command > P.
You can set your own shortcut up by going to the System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Application Shortcuts > click the + sign, choose Safari from the drop down box, enter in Menu Title "Private Browsing" then enter in a shortcut you can remember to turn on Privte Browsing once you enter Safari.
lol how would that be any different from clicking on the safari button and choosing private browsing...the whole point of the question was there any way to set it up so that safari starts in provate browsing as it is easy to forget to turn it on.

i was using it on privacy since the day i got it
i only changed it once to privacy
i didnt change back
not til i restored it and jailbroke it
now i cant keep it on privacy any help??
I did this when I had Safari 8, but since then have upgraded and there is no longer an option to change it.
Is there a way to revert it?
