New computer not recognizing Apple TV

So, we just got a new PC and I got itunes installed just fine, but I am having difficulty getting my itunes to correctly recognize AppleTV. It just shows the device with a "Settings" tab/screen and a "Photos" tab/screen. I have tried looking at all the different troubleshooting options, I have updated to the latest and greatest version of itunes, but can't seem to get itunes to recognize more than that for the AppleTV.
What am I doing wrong? I feel like it should be a very easy fix.....

You won't see your ATV in iTunes (unless you have the 1st one). You turn home sharing on via iTunes and on ATV and stream your content. Or you can use airplay.

I have it on homesharing right now.
How do I get it to sync with my library, photos, etc?

You don't sync, there is no user accessible hard drive. You leave your computer on, make sure ATV has home sharing on, and that both are on the same wifi network. Then navigate to the computers tab on ATV and choose from your library (Music, Photos etc)

Thanks. I see it now. It's just strange now, cuz I was used to syncing it and selecting what I want on there and now it just takes a bit longer, but it's all there.

No problem, yeah the 1st generation worked a little differently as you had the option to sync. Glad you found it.
