"Mail" app won't open
I recently did the Software Update to the most recent version of Snow Leopard, but do not recall if that was before or after I read my mail yesterday morning. I have severe ADHD, so sometimes little things like that escape me at inopportune moments. Anyway, I have tried the Time Machine solution to no avail. Every time I try to open mail, I get a popup window that says, "You can't use this version of Mail with this version of OS X You tried to open Mail version 4.4 (1082/1084) in: /Applications/Mail (original).app It can't be used on this version of Mac OS X. Try opening the version of Mail located in the Applications folder on your computer. For more information, click the Help button."
OK, does that make ANY sense to anyone. "Try opening the version of Mail located in the Applications folder on your computer"??? ? Hello! It just TOLD me that the location that wouldn't work was /Applications
Are they THAT clueless?
FYI, the "(original)" in the Mail app name is because an Apple tech told me to name it that a while back when on a support call while I still had AppleCare (which just expired 3 weeks ago).
Can anyone help? I can't let my email just go unattended, and Mail is the only place where I can retrieve it all. Thanks in advance for any and all helpful info.
