Scatter Plot With Multiple Data Series

Hello,
I would greatly appreciate any help you guys could give me.

I need one scatter plot that shows 4 different groups of data. They all go with the same X and Y axis values, though.

I can get a scatter graph with ONE group, but it won't let me add in another one. I tried the clicking and dragging the new cells, and the shift clicking, but the data just will not go into the chart. It's like it doesn't recognize it.

I think I read something about sharing the X values? But I don't know how to do that?

One more time, a question whose answer is available in *_Numbers User Guide_*

Is it so difficult to search for the simple keyword "Scatter" in the named PDF ?

Doing that I found :

What is the layout of your data? All in one table? What are the column descriptions?

Jerry,
They are all in one table... I don't know how to check to see if they're body or header cells, though.
Some of the cells are labeled with words, is that what you mean by column descriptions? I did not include those in the data selected for the chart though lol
I took a screen shot, I wish I could show you somehow?

Koenig,
I know what I need to do, but not how to do it. If you could please tell me how to do that selecting more cells thing that would be great. I have already looked in the PDF, the Apple website, the Numbers help searchbar, and youtube. Nobody is as specific as my question.

Select the first set of X-Y data you want to have in the chart and create a scatter chart. This is columns B and C in the image below. After creating the chart, a gear icon will be in the upper left of the selection box. Click it and choose "share X values". At the lower right corner of the selection box is a little circle. Drag it to the right to make the selection box cover the other columns of Y data.

Pop,

Badunit's example is one possible arrangement that you might have described; that is, one column for X values and several columns for Y values. This is the case when you should respond that you are sharing X-values. With all the data in one table, you can select it all at once, so you don't have the problem with dragging additional series into the chart.

The Numbers User Guide PDF's first chapter is the place to start getting your bearings - you will learn how to distinguish Header vs. Body rows and columns. It's worth the effort to take another look at it.

Since you are using a Scatter Chart, it's important not to use a header column for X because X values must be Numeric, as opposed to Text.

Okay, I will try to read up on the PDF before I get questions like this so maybe I won't be as lost.
I Just needed to to that gear button thing and click "share x values" and select the next three rows. I wonder why that was so difficult?..
