I also tried what modular747 suggested, but calendar still was missing. But I found a way to get it back: Swipe right ftom ypur home screen. It will show the date & links to news stories, etc. Scroll down to calendar. It may show an option to "open". Otherwise click & hold...& I forget what I did exactly, but I eventually saw a list of Apple apps, including calendar, with the box which said "open" in blue next to it. I clicked & held that until it opened. Then I looked on homescreen & it was there. I think my content was missing, at first, but a few minutes later all my calendar content was back in there.

You can't delete Calendar app (or any of the stock iOS apps). If you don't see it, it's been moved to another home screen page or inside a folder. Look through the pages and folders to find it.

Rarely, it can be move "beyond" the 11 standard home screen pages but still is available through Spotlight search.

You can restore it to its original location by:

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout. This will return all stock iOS apps to their original locations and arrange 3rd party apps alphabetically (folders are deleted).
