Skype on the iPad 1st generation

I would like to use Skype on my iPad but I can't figure out whether I even have a microphone. The specs seem to indicate that there is an internal mic. Is there some way to confirm the existence of an internal mic? If there isn't one, is there an external mic that works with Skype and the iPad?
