Tivo transfers

I have Tivo plus that allows me to transfer recordings to my IPad. Tivo converts the file to an IPad format. I go to the file and drag it over to the iTunes folder and nothing happens. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong. The video file does not show up in tv or movies or any folder that I am aware of. I attach my IPad to iTunes and it does not synch the video (probably because it never transfered.) Any advise?
