Q: import Motion Projects, files, and bundles

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get motion files into FCS. The manuals advice creating a file with the motn file and all its linked files and bringing that in as a bundle. However, I have a ton of motion files that all link to the same logo file. Do I need to include a new copy of that logo file every time I bring in a motn project? Not a big deal for a small logo but if I start linking to large files such as video, it could become an issue.

Thanks

It depends on your workflow. The book "Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Server 1.5" shows a workflow where you don't necessarily need to bundle. But in some cases you'll want to bundle.

In those cases, put the Logo file in FCSvr. The editor will "Export" the logo when he needs to use it (not Check Out). Then it can be kept in the Motion Bundled asset, and the original logo file in FCSvr is left untouched.
