Volume Up/Power Button do not work properly.

Hello all,

I left my ipod nano 6th gen on my desk for a couple of days without touching it, I went back to it today and I see that the volume up button doesnt not work and that the power button only makes the screen blink.

Prior to this I had the new patch installed and the power button would make the ipod turn off...this is not so no more.
Instead the volume is always half way when I get it out of sleep and then the I can't but the volume up, only down.

I've tried restarting it and rebooting it, no change. I put it in the iterm/diagnostic mode and i cant do anything on the menu screen (i'm guessing because my buttons do not work).

Help is desperately needed and appreciated.

Start by restoring the Nano in iTunes. At the summary screen, click the "restore" button.

If that does not work, try recovering. To do this, connect the iPod to your computer running iTunes. Then hold down the volume up, volume down and sleep/wake button at the same time. Keep holding them down till iTunes brings up a dialog then let go of the buttons. If you hold the buttons down too long, you will have to start over.

Once the dialog comes up, just follow the directions to recover the ipod.

To go into recovery, you need to be connected to your computer with itunes running. Then you need to hold down the volume up, volume down and sleep/wake button at the same time until iTunes comes up with a dialog. Then release the buttons when the dialog appears.

Once the dialog comes up, it should walk you through "Recovering" the ipod. It will ask to download some recovery software and you should allow that and continue with the process.

The only place you might hit a snag is if you hold the three buttons down too long after the dialog comes. If you do,just start over again.
