Blog entries disappear when I save my iWeb site to a desktop file

I have designed a website using iWeb 08, and when I upload it to MobileMe, it looks fine. But I want to upload via FTP to another server. The first step is to save the site to a folder. Once I've done that, I'm invited to "visit site". When I do so, I see that entries on my blogs simply aren't showing up - blank pages with headlines instead. Any suggestions?

iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.6.7), iWeb 08 (version 2.0.4)
