Setting Up XGrid with Leopard Server and Snow Leopard Agents
I have 4 Mac Mini's all connected to the same Gig-E switch. The Switch is a small 8-port Cisco unit. 3 of the Mini's are running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 while the remaining Mini runs Leopard server 10.5.8. The Snow Leopards are configured as Xgrid agents with no authentication. The Leopard server is configured as the controller, also without authentication. It also runs an agent.
The problem is that using XGrid Admin on the Leopard server, I can see the local agent but none of the other agents running on the Snow Leopard Mini's. I'd read in other posts that there was a bug that prevented Snow Leopard agents from running on Leopard servers, but that Apple had fixed that in the 10.6.2 release of Snow Leopard.
I suspect I'm missing something bloody obvious. Thoughts and useful direction would be most appreciated.
