Compressor renders to a 4 kb file only?

I just had the problem again. Sadly none of your solutions worked.
I've had the same problem before, too. It may have to do with your render settings in Compressor, as well as the amount of ram you have available for the process (4GB may be too low). Usually it takes a while for it to convert, so I'd say leave it alone for at least 5-10 minutes. If nothing else, try using MPEG Streamclip-- it's faster.
Check the History window, it will tell you if the file is still being transcoded or if it's done... it may be getting stuck. (this may happen if you cancel in the middle transcoding or if you import a reference movie)
Go to: Compressor > Reset Background Processing.
If this doesn't clear the issue, how are you sending the file to Compressor? Share? or are you exporting a self-contained or reference movie from FCP?
(what will also give you a clue that your movie is done, is that if you are exporting to the same location as the source, a yellow exclamation mark will appear next to the applied settings in the main job window)
The history window shows its finished. Also compressor often deletes the original file from the hard drive altogether and not a sign of it anywhere including the trash basket.

Make sure you are not saving with the same name....
And if you haven't already, try this: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/compressorrepair/
I have tried compressor repair, Also the files are not of the same name
I am experiencing the exact same issue...very frustrating.
Anyone out there figure this out yet?
HUGELY appreciate any insight! Thanks...
Try trashing (deleting) the prefs. Compressor prefs can be found in your user library preference file: com.apple.compressor.Compressor.plist.
