If your laptop includes Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010, you can sync contacts and calendar events with Outlook on your laptop in the same way you were syncing with Outlook on your Desktop. If Outlook on your laptop is empty - it doesn't include any contacts or calendar events, before the first sync for this data with Outlook on your laptop, enter one contact and one calendar event in Outlook on your laptop. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select. If Outlook on your laptop has been used - it includes at least one contact and one calendar event, you will be provided a merge prompt with the first sync for this data which you want to select. Syncing contacts and calendar events with a supported application on your computer is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

The iPhone does not support syncing tasks with Outlook.

Once again are you askimg me or telling me that I get option/promp to merge?
Please answer my question in a simple matter.
How do I sync from Iphone to my laptop?
I already answered: I have Microsoft Vista I have some contacts in my laptop already.
I said when I did sync before as soon I conected my Iphone to my computer it starts inmediatlly to sync without doing anything myself. It is the reason I am asking you again How can I do it the opposite *to sync from iphone to my laptop?

You have been telling me some issues about option, merge, etc What do you want to tell me? that does not answer my above question. Do I need to make that merge stuff? How?

I was very clear with mu question I WANT TO SYNC FROM MY IPHONE TO MY LAPTOP NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

And I was VERY clear with my answer. Copied from my first reply to you.

+If your laptop includes Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010, you can sync contacts and calendar events with Outlook on your laptop in the same way you were syncing with Outlook on your Desktop. Syncing contacts and calendar events with a supported application on your computer is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.+

Which part of this answer is not clear or understood?

You indicated you have Outlook 2007 available on your laptop. Check.

And my answer includes the following: +*If Outlook on your laptop is empty - it doesn't include any contacts or calendar events, before the first sync for this data with Outlook on your laptop, enter one contact and one calendar event in Outlook on your laptop. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select.*+

And the following: +*If Outlook on your laptop has been used - it includes at least one contact and one calendar event, you will be provided a merge prompt with the first sync for this data which you want to select.*+

And the following: +*Syncing contacts and calendar events with a supported application on your computer is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.*+

If your Outlook address book and calendar on your laptop includes at least one contact and one calendar event and you've selected Sync Contacts with Outlook and Sync Calendars with Outlook under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, you will be provided a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select.

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET YOUR IPHONE CONTACTS AND CALENDAR EVENTS IN OUTLOOK ON YOUR LAPTOP.

The sync process for contacts and calendar events is a bidirectional or true sync process but if the supported address book and calendar application on your computer is empty when your iPhone includes contacts and calendar events, all contacts and calendar events on your iPhone will be erased with the first sync for this data with the supported application on your computer. If the supported address book and calendar application on your computer includes at least one contact and one calendar event, you will be provided a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select. This will transfer your iPhone contacts and calendar events to the supported address book and calendar on your computer with the first sync, which must be selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. After the initial merge for this data with the supported application on your computer, the data will be kept synchronized between the two with the following syncs with iTunes.

Thanks for the long reply

Now I am a little afraid to lose my only contacts located in my Iphone after your explanation..... The sync process for contacts and calendar events is a bidirectional or true sync process but if the supported address book and calendar application on your computer is empty when your iPhone includes contacts and calendar events, all contacts and calendar events on your iPhone will be erased...I said I have some contacts in my laptop but not all of the contacts from my Iphone.

Now you said ..I will be provided with a merge prompt when I do the first sync... How do I get that merge prompt? What happend after the first sync? will the iphone continue sync to the lapto? I don't want it I just need it once. After all my contacts located in my Iphone are transfered to my laptop the task is finished for me. I want to reverse the transfer process from now on, which means from laptop to Iphone.

I hope my message is clear. Now I am afraid to lose my only contacts after your last explanation.

You're welcome.

Now I am a little afraid to lose my only contacts located in my Iphone after your explanation.....

Then you should have included your contacts with Outlook on your Desktop with the backup for your Desktop along with all other important data on your Desktop.

And I also included this, again for the 3rd time now.

+*If Outlook on your laptop has been used - it includes at least one contact and one calendar event, _you will be provided a merge prompt with the first sync for this data which you want to select._*+

Now you said ..I will be provided with a merge prompt when I do the first sync... How do I get that merge prompt?

And I also included this: +*Syncing contacts and calendar events with a supported application on your computer _is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes._*+

+*If your Outlook address book and calendar on your laptop includes at least one contact and one calendar event and you've selected Sync Contacts with Outlook and Sync Calendars with Outlook under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, you will be provided a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select.*+

I know of no other way to provide this any clearer.

What happend after the first sync?

Did you have sync contacts and calendar events with Outlook selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes before the first sync with iTunes? If so and there is at least one contact and one calendar event in Outlook, you should have been provided a merge prompt with the first sync for this data. If you don't have sync contacts and calendar events with Outlook selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences, then you won't be provided a merge prompt with the first sync for this data since this data is not being included with the iTunes sync process when syncing your iPhone with iTunes.

will the iphone continue sync to the lapto?

Not if you deselect sync contacts and sync calendar events under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes after the first sync and merge for this data.

I don't want it I just need it once.

Then just do it once.

After all my contacts located in my Iphone are transfered to my laptop the task is finished for me.

Then just do it once.

I want to reverse the transfer process from now on, which means from laptop to Iphone.

As I already provided, the sync process for contacts and calendar events is not a one way transfer process. It is a bidirectional or true sync process with the supported application on your computer. This is not going to change regardless what you want.

I hope my message is clear.

Your message has been clear with me from the start, and I've provided you a very clear answer several times now regarding how to accomplish what you want.

Now I am afraid to lose my only contacts after your last explanation.

Not sure why since my answer has not changed which is not going to change.
