But it is true.
Data on a BlackBerry device is utilizing RIM's network infrastructure and is HIGHLY compressed. Data compression is one of RIM's strongest features.
In lay terms... if you do the same things on an iPhone and a BlackBerry (browse same web pages, download same email messages, etc.) the BlackBerry will actually use LESS carrier data than an iPhone.
Depending on on your usage and particular data plan, there could be significant cost savings using a BlackBerry over an iPhone. This is probably what your company is trying to achieve.
