New Ipad 2 - USB Device Not Recognised - Faulty?!

Hi,

Picked up a new 16gb Wifi Ipad 2 yesterday and when I came to plug it into my PC I got the dreaded USB Device Not Recognised popup and Device has malfunctioned and reported a fault message so I can't do anything with it. Simply listed as unknown device. Tried it on 3 pcs (Windows XP & Windows 7) with latest version of ITunes using 2 different Apple USB cables with same result. My ipod Touch connects fine so I know there's nothing wrong with the cables or PCs. Tried doing a reset but nothing will get me past this message. Ipad just displays the USB cable picture and ITunes icon. Is there anything else I can try or should I just return it as faulty?

Thanks for any advice!

- If you have not tried resetting your iPad I would do that:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- If that does not work I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or call AppleCare. The troubleshooting you performed points me to a hardware problem.
