Apple SSD reporting 1.5 GB Link speed?

Hi there, my mid-2009 Macbook Pro came factory fitted with the Apple SSD T256A drive.
Recently I was just looking around Profiler and I noticed that the NVidia MCP79 AHCI settings were reporting:

Link Speed: 3 Gigabit
Negotiated Link Speed: 1.5 Gigabit
Description: AHCI Version 1.20 Supported

I was under the impression that SSD drives should be able to utilise the 3 GB Link speed, so why is mine reporting a negotiated speed of 1.5 GB ?

I'm having the same issue's,

my MBP (see specs below). from the first moment I bought this laptop I'ts felt slow and sluggish. beach-ball's show up mucg to often.Apple had replaced the HD, but the issue is still not solved. I have read a lot about an issue with the SATA controler and Apple limiting speed after EFI 1.7 update.

It is very frustraiting, buying at the time the top end MBP, to see my girlfriends 13" MBP outperform mine by far. While I have a 2.8 8GB RAM system

1. Does anyone know how to check EFI version?

2. does anyone know how to check if negotiated speed is a disk or controler related limitation?

My disk is: Hitachi HTS545050B9SA02 Revision: PB4AC60T Serial Number: 100115PBC400Q7K8N9UG

I'm thinking of upgrading my HDD to SSD hoping to solve the sluggushness. But am worried i'll be wasting my money if the controler is limiting my speed.

any idea's would be much appriciated.
