IPHONE 4 - APPLE STORE BAHNHOFSTRASSE

Hi,

last weekend 19th March I bought the IPHONE 4 at the apple store in Zurich ( I live in Portugal), when I tried to register my iphone it said that the SIM IS NOT SUPPORTED, I went to a Vodafone store and they tried another sim card, but still unsuccessful, what I was told is that it might be a problem with the actual PHONE. Who do I need to contact? How do I return the Iphone to exchange if i'm not in ZURICH, Switzerland anymore

Iphones sold in Switzerland are carrier locked. Two of the carrier offer unlocking as a service. You would have to contact the provider to which it is locked to see if they offer this service.

iPhones are made for the specific networks authorized in the country of purchase. So your iPhone can only be registered on a Swiss Network, though it can be used in other countries via Roaming.

You might go to the closest Apple Store, which in your case would be Madrid or Barcelona, and see if they can help you to return it. Then purchase a new one at an authorized iPhone retailer in Portugal such as Vodaphone or TMN.
