I have the latest orange software and the system profiler registers the dongle as being inserted into the USB however the software still wont connect. I have been told that it may be a problem with the power distribution to the USB port and that it does not have enough power to register the dongle but i do not know how to change the power distribution.Macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

It's on the Orange website that the E1752 (in the specification section) is not compatible with the Thunderbolt based Macbook Pro.
Have you found a workaround??

bump! I have the same situation and would really like to be able to use my Orange dongle with my thunderbolt equipped Macbook. Anyone know how I can do this?
