You say you are going to your house and it doesn't work? You need to be on the same network to access the server. Does it work properly when you are on the same local network as FCSvr?

Yes it works great when I'm local. Is there a way to access it when not off location? I also have a VPN set up and when I connect to my office I still have the issue. That's why I'm a little lost.

Is the VPN filtering access in any way? It could be limiting which ports get through and/or which hosts can be accessed.

What port does FCSvr use? I know we have a firewall up and running. Do you know what port I need to open for FCSvr client to work off site??

So I apple pro support and got the ports that are supposed to be open. They are 80, 8821, 8891. I get the ports open on my firewall but FCSvr is still not working for me. I have the Pro support working on this as well so if anyone has any ideas that would be great. Thanks

Try removing the FCSvr client from your local machine and then reinstalling it from the web installer while you are connected via VPN. Run these commands in Terminal to remove it:

    rm -r ~/Library/Caches/Java/
    rm -r ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.finalcutserver/
    rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finalcutserver.plist
    rm -r ~/Desktop/Final Cut Server.app

Sometimes my client just won't launch like you are seeing and reinstalling it within whatever network connection I'm using gets it working again.

So I final figured out what was going on with this. I also have File Maker Pro Server running on this computer. When I would try and access Final Cut Server. It would direct me to File Maker Server. When I went into "Server Admin" clicked "web" then went to "sits" at the top. I then un-enabled the File Maker Server and was able to get Final Cut Server working. Hope this helps someone some day. If not I am always up or helping someone. studio@humantouch.us

    Thanks and good luck.

Turned off File Maker Server charts and it worked. File Maker Server was interfering with Final Cut Server.
