How can I remove a genre from my iTunes dropdown list?

I have this junk genre that comes up first every time I try to change the info on any song. I never use that genre and I want it gone so I don't have to deal with it anymore. It's not an Apple genre, it got put in there somewhere along the line, so there's got to be a way to take it off.
