Personal Hotspot on 3GS on Vodafone India

Hi,
I had updated my 3GS to iOS 4.3 and wanted to use personal hotspot. Personal hotspot can be seen in the settings menu in both my iPhone 4 and 3GS but while the 4 is able to create a personal hotspot, on selecting the option in 3GS a get a message to contact my carrier vodafone India. It cannot be a problem of subscribing to a tethering plan as no such plan is available in India and also iPhone 4 is not officially sold here. Please help me. I want to tether a wifi iPad to the 3GS.

iPhone 3GS 32gb, iOS 4, Apple macbook air 2008, iPhone 4 16gb, iPhone 3GS 32gb, iPad 3G 32gb, iPad wifi 16gb

Hi,

Were you able to use the tethering through your iphone earlier through USB for your computer? Also since you use vodafone network (in India), you need to subscribe to iphone data plan in order for tethering.

Hi, im on iPhone 4 (factory unlocked) on Vodafone India. I wanted to check if your able to use the hotpost feature on EDGE or 3G? What plan are you using i.e. Mobile Internet or Mobile Broadband?? Do i need to change any settings such as APN?

I only ask as i intend to upgrade to ios 4.3.3 for the Hotspot feature.

the Hotpost Feature is not support on iPhone 3GS / 3G
