New Apple Remote w/ old Universal Dock

Will the new style Apple Remote work with the old Apple Universal Dock? The one that came with the small white remote (just before the new one, not too old), mine broke & I never really liked the small white one.

Should work fine, I lost an old white one, replaced it with the aluminum one. (Then found the lost one)
