Can't fill in IRS f1040.pdf (Using Preview)

I downloaded the 2010 form 1040 (f1040.pdf) and I can't type in some fields ( http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040.pdf). The social security field is one field instead of the usual three. But even when I type in my SS number it goes blank once I leave the field. Only the name and address fields worked fine.

So I tried last years PDF. The 2009 form works fine. I can easily write in fields or change them.

I tried then new version of Adobe Reader but it won't let you save and then open a pdf.

And form 2555EZ for 2010 works fine.

Al I want to do is file my taxes without spending a week on it.
