Commercials at end of purchased TV shows

This year each of the episodes of Season 6 of Bones has commercials for additional FOX TV shows at the end of the episode.

I am not paying for commercials when I buy shows from the iTunes Store.

This is wrong, I am paying for the TV shows, not commercials.

Since there is no way to directly send comments to the iTunes Store management, how can this addition of commercials be stopped?

Think yourself lucky! In the days of VHS all the Disney films began with 15 minutes of trailers, and many other films had a lot of garbage on the front: and someone actually produced a VHS cassette mechanism which would +not allow you to scan or spool forward+ through them. Not sure it was ever actually implemented, but...

Mind you, Disney DVDs have the same thing, but I notice that recent releases have a caption telling you what button to press to put a stop to it ('Top Menu').

"Since there is no way to directly send comments to the iTunes Store management"

You can indeed send feedback directly to Apple, as provided earlier.

" how can this addition of commercials be stopped?"

It very likely cannot. The owner/distributor of the content will decide what it will provide and what it will not.

Why do you care? Just don't watch the commercials.

I have just come across this for the first time with the latest episodes of Glee (Yes, I watch Glee - get over it.) I sent an email to iTunes support and got this reply. Will wait to see what happens as I have sent the followup information. Perhaps if we all send a response there will be some action.

I am just complaining that there are commercials in the iTunes TV show purchases, specifically Glee. I find this very offensive. I buy them because I don't want the ads. If I am paying to view I do not expect to see ads. These need to be removed and providers need to respect that they are making money on my purchase and have no business messing up my viewing.

Dear Robert,

Welcome to iTunes Store Customer Support.

I understand that you are concerned because you are seeing commercials in your iTunes Store video purchases. I am sure you must be eager to get this resolved at the earliest. I am happy to help you.

Robert, purchased videos from the store should not include any commercials. Please reply with a description of the commercial you saw, so we can investigate this issue further.

I will look forward to helping you resolve this issue.

If you have more questions about this issue, please let me know.

Have a nice day!

There are similar commercials at the beginning and end of Archer Season 4. I think Fox/FX is doing this with all their content.

I scheduled a support call with Apple and was issued a full refund. I encourage everyone to do the same. This will definitely expedite a solution.

Seeing how Archer and other series are getting slammed on their iTunes ratings for this issue, I think this will be resolved. When it is finally resolved, I will gladly repurchase Archer Season 4. Otherwise, I will find a way to live without; somehow I managed to live all those years before Archer came into existence.

It appears Fox is now adding commercials to the beginning and end of their content. I've submitted to the iTunes feedback and won't purchase any TV shows from fox. If for no other reason than the added commercials take up hard drive space that I don't want to give up. They should either not allow Fox to submit content with commercials in it, or there needs to be notation that each show comes with roughly 2min of added commercial content. Over the course of a season, that turns into about 48min of video, or 1 or 2 full episodes of a show.

*Edit - I wanted to be sure that I wasn't exagerating about the amount of commercial, so I checked. It was 2min and 25sec of commercial content. That's stupid.

The big issue is that you are usinog space on your computer/ipad as well as data usage for those commericals. So the extra 2 minutes over time, can cost you both time and money. Fox needs to stop it. If we, the consumer, continue to buy to buy from Fox it will spread to other content providers.

While this is smart for Fox, this is not what I purchased. I am now thinking of avoiding both Foxs and buying shoed. from itunes until this is resolved.
