Twitter for Mac - Apple ID bug

When I try to re-download Twitter for Mac. The pop up Apple ID account info shows but the problem is that a strange email ALWAYS fill my ID box, "tr33.heine@googlemail.com".
I delete it and fill the form with my own account info a couple of times. every single time, an error occur.
This happens only with Twitter for Mac, everything other app works fine.
This bug isn't the only one on Twitter for Mac. "Spaces" bug is extremely annoying too, but this is another story...

Hi,

Yes, it's a bug, not an isolated issue.

First, email the MAS Customer Service here to report the bug. http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact.html?form=account

Next, install the v10.6.7 combo update that includes fixes that were not part of the original v10.6.7 update. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1361

Then restart your Mac. Go to: http://twitter.com/

*Make sure are logged out there.*

Now try to re download the Twitter app.

I have a similar issue here. App Store icon constantly has a badge indicating an update is available. It's always Twitter 2.0.2. I have Twitter 2.0.2 installed. And I even tried deleting the app and pref file completely - but the app store always indicates an update is available. I install it anyway, and it's still there.

At no time am I asked for any email or password as others have mentioned.

Same issue here, i had the first version of twitter for mac because i didnt want to lose the extra options that came with it through the terminal hacks, but now when i try to update i get the "tr33.heine@googlemail.com"email address. I have 10.6.7 i tried the solution above and i have cleared my com.apple.appstore cache but still no luck.
I removed twitter.app using appzapper so i guess there shouldn't be any trace of the app but still MAS says i have an update and when i try to download it i see that it says free and not installed but i can't download because i get that email address.

what to do next?

ok i had created a new account to download free apps from the US store because they were not available in my countries store. I had initially downloaded twitter using my old account, after i removed twitter it is still tied to my old user account, when i try to re download it, it is always in my update list even though it is not installed. When i try to download it, i get my old username already filled in in the username box. Are there any additional twitter files that needs to be deleted.
If i try to remove twitter.app using appzapper it only finds one file which is the twitter.app file and no other plist or other types of files. Even then it cant delete it, i have to drag twitter.app to the trash inorder to remove it.
I dont understand why twitter.app is the only appStore app that acts differently.
