Any Hope at all
We were getting ready to expand our XSan and we were having trouble seeing the LUN's in XSan Admin. After reading around we found a command that was supposed to let us see the LUN's, which appeared to be seen in DiskUtility.
Well we were wrong. Using the "helpful hint" in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1268 we ran dd against the smallest LUN visible (so it wouldn't take so long). Well that happened to be the metadata RAID 1 LUN.
So, as you might figure, an XSan doesn't like to run with out MetaData. Is there a command like cvfsck that we can run to rebuild the MetaData from the existing data?? Or are we just hosed??
