I have my iPhone 4 for 2 months now, but a few days ago my sounds and ringtone were gone.
The only way I know that I have a message/mail or that someone is calling me is through the vibrations.
I checked my settings of course, and all sounds and ringtone are turned on.
I do hear people when I call them and vice versa, I can still listen to music, but the other sounds (slide, typing, ...) and the ringtone do not work anymore.
Can anyone help me out?

If this switch isn't on then try plugging and unplugging a headphone a couple times

I am going crazy for 3 days now because I tend to play with my iphone4 sounds and suddenly everything stops. I did everything re: on/ off, restore, blow the headphone space, shook it.. really hard...not even paying attention to this little "switch" on the side of the fone, ohhh.. Gosh! Why the heck that small switch was there while u can manipulate everything in your setting??? Anyway, I accidentally discover that a few seconds ago and now everything is back to normal. LOL!   Thanks- ur post did confirmed I did finally hit the right button.
