10.6.7 upgrade and bluetooth keyboard/Magic trackpad
Since doing the upgrade to 10.6.7 i have issues with bluetooth keyboards/trackpads not being seen by the Mac Mini i own. I must fiddle around with the mouse and keyboard and EVENTUALLY it will be seen. This happens on boot every time. Once it is discovered, all works fine until the next boot.
I have deleted and added the devices to the bluetooth configuration, reset the sram, cleaned permissions, etc. Nothing has helped.
Any pointers to resolving this issue once and for all would be appreciated.
Is there an issue with the 10.6.7 upgrade? I just did the upgrade too, and suddenly the Bluetooth icon at the top right of my iMac screen is gone ... Bluetooth mouse and keyboard inop ... and clicked on System Preferences ==> Bluetooth icon gone missing ... clicked "About this Mac", then "More info", then "Bluetooth" ==> "no information found".
It appears as though the 10.6.7 upgrade has removed Bluetooth completely from the iMac OS. I am working now with a USB kb and USB mouse. HELP!
That is actually when the problem exhibits itself for me. After shutdown neither the keyboard or trackpad are recognized until I fiddle around with settings or turn them off or on or... never can seem to figure out the right thing to get them back and happens on every startup!
I have the same problem with bluetooth now after upgrading to 10.6.7. The bluetooth hardware is no longer recognized at all. Nothing works to get it back so far. I tried PRAM resets and SMC resets several reboots with nothing working.... I took the computer MacBookPro just purchased a few days ago.... into the Apple store and they are ordering new bluetooth hardware because even their test program does not see the Bluetooth hardware any more. But I do not think the hardware is bad because it was working just fine until I updated the system software. I think Apple has a major software bug going on in this update based upon the number of users with the same problem as me. The bluetooth hardware may need to be removed and reinstalled. I have not tried that yet. Please advise if a fix is found...For now using USB keyboard and mouse as bluetooth is no longer recognized at all.

I applied the combo update and this seems to have resolved my issue to this point, but i plan on watching it closely. I should know to do this from past experiences with updates, but did not think about it until now. You may want to try that if you have not already.
Spoke too soon. While I can get the mouse and keyboard to be recognized after a period of time it does not happen automatically after bootup. I wonder if a microcode update for wireless keyboard/magic tracpad is pending?
Since the upgrade, my wireless keyboard has been fine, but my wireless mouse is dropped constantly. I have to manually reconnect it - over and over throughout the day. Very frustrating.
I think I've managed to fix mine, fingers crossed. I went a little nuts and did the following.
Removed batteries from both mouse and keyboard.
Deleted the bluetooth prefs file.
Rebooted and reset SMC.
Upon boot bluetooth was working again, so I removed all the devices from the list and deleted the prefs again.
Did another reboot and SMC reset.
Upon boot I then put the batteries back in both devices and re-paired them.
Going on 36 hours now without hiccups.
maybe I spoke too soon too. Reboot worked for a while, but now my Bluetooth mouse is no longer operational (the Bluetooth keyboard is, though). Changing batteries in the mouse doesn't help. For now I need to keep a USB mouse nearby to work with my iMac.
Skimming through the forums it seems like there are a lot of bugs with this 10.6.7 update, is that normal? I've only had this iMac about a month, which makes it even more frustrating because I've wanted a Mac for years and then I finally get one and have this nightmare of a frustration!!
