iPhone 4 - AC Power Supply

Hi guys, I have an old Griffin charger and now I'm wondering if I can use it to charge my iPhone without actually damaging the device or the battery. Here's the technical details of the adapter:

Be brave. It will work or not. I'm sure the iPhone is clever enough to ignore silly voltages offered to it. And 5 volts is perfectly correct.

Normal USB power is 5.0V 500mA (2.5W), so it will work fine.

But it it won't charge as fast as it would from the official charger (or a number of 3rd party chargers) which supply double the power. (5.0V 1A (5W))
