Losing USB Connection to external keyboard

I am using the CCK to connect my M-Audio Keystation 61es to my gen 1 iPad. I connect through a powered USB hub. Everything works swimmingly, until my iPad goes into a sleep state. When it wakes, I have lost USB functionality - and am unable to hear anything from GarageBand via the Keystation unless I do a hard reset of my iPad. GarageBand still works, and kicks out sound - but the external keyboard just doesn't work without a reset.

If others are having the issue, I havent seen the posts or solution. Any help would be appreciated. Doing a hard reset isn't the end of the world but is something I would like to avoid having to do if possible.

Specifics
GarageBand for iPad
Gen 1 iPad (external speakers connected via headphone jack)
Camera Connection Kit
USB Connection to Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port F5U700
USB Connection from Hub to M-Audio KeyStation 61es

Thanks
