iPad GB song sounds very different loaded into GB on the Mac

I've updated my GarageBand just now adding support for loading iPad GarageBand songs. Imagine my surprise when the two songs I had worked out on the iPad which needed some refinement didn't sound like the iPad would play them.
The sound of most instruments is right or very similar, but there are a few synths that do behave differently with certain settings. So much so, that I couldn't get the key part of one of my tracks to sound as good as on the iPad no matter how hard I tried.
Has anybody else experienced those discrepancies between what the iPad renders and what GarageBand '11 plays after importing the iPad song file?
