buying an iphone

I am thinking of buying an iphone. The feature I like is the wifi connectivity. I read the problems but I am still not clear how I can use this feature. I have a macbookpro at home and telstra prepaid mobile wifi. if the telstra prepaid is plugged in can i then use this as my link to the internet with my iphone?

Mac Book Pro 4.1, Mac OS X (10.6.7), 2.4 GHz Intel core duo 4Gb 667MHz DDR2 Duo

If the Telstra it is shooting out a wifi signal, it should connect. Problems always looked magnified here because it is typically only those having a problem that post here. Most don't have many problems, if any at all. Like me. 🙂. Good luck.
