Microsoft Office for IPAD 2

There are many Office-type apps, e.g. Office2 HD, Documents to Go, etc. However, just be aware that they are very limited compared to the desktop versions, especially when it comes to supporting non-basic formatting or functions.
If your spreadsheets and documents are fairly simple, you'll be OK.

QuickOffice is fantastic. I have had no problem opening and editing Office doc/docx files as well as other Office files like xls/xlsx and so on. They do a great job supporting the app. Follow them on Twitter and they get back to you very quick with any questions you have.

In my opinion iWork is OK. and only few dollars more expensive then others app.

The OP was after a MS Office app. In my opinion, no matter what merits the iWork apps have in their own right, they are the worst for Word, Excel compatibility.

Teamviewer

It is like go to my PC, but free, I have it on my xoom.

What I really like about it is I can be anywhere in the world and use outlook, word, dreamweaver, w/e and since the files are on my work PC, and I'm editing them remotely, ftping and attachment are super fast, regardless of if I'm in a crappy area.

I actually check my outlook, and edit all work files on my xoom through teamviewer, I,m not even going to setup email on my xoom, just go by the notifications on my phone.

And with the HTC evo 4G hotspot, my xoom can be wifi only and always have a signal.
