Can iPhones break by static electricity?

Nope. But if you are holding it in one hand and take a butter knife with the other and stick into an electrical outlet with your foot in the toilet... that might fry it... and well... you.

Under normal conditions no, static will not damage the iPhone.

If you were however to disassemble the iPhone you could damage components of the iPhone with static electricity. So yes iPhones can break from static electricity however it will not damage the iPhone if it is being used under normal conditions and is fully assembled.

If you disassemble the iPhone and then stick a fork in an electrical socket then some real damage would be done... 🙂

On a daily basis I build up a lot of static electricity. So far the phone hasn't been bothered. But, I don't touch the 30 pin connector port to test it.
