apple tv navigation screen doesn't fit tv

I've had a problem with the ATV main navigation screen not fitting on the TV screen since the last software update a week ago. It's too big. When I stream something from netflix or watch regular tv it's fine. I assume it's some kind of screen resolution problem. I'm connecting directly from the ATV2 to a 720 flat screen. I turned it off and on, reset it to factory settings, etc and nothing's worked. Anyone else have this or know how to fix it?

Double check your screen resolution and make sure it matches your TV.

Check your tv settings, you likely have something in the settings that is causing this. The Apple TV doesn't have the ability to adjust it's output resolution.

except there has been occasions when the appletv has zoomed right in so you can only see a quarter of the screen.

this happened to me once, and it wasn't the fault of the TV. a reboot of the appletv did fix it though.

Can't say I've experienced that myself, although I wasn't aware of this I'm not convinced this is the case here, the OP seems to have already tried this and a restore.

it only happened to me the once, and on an early software version.

I probably don't use mine enough to see too many issues occur, I have my 1's in the most used locations.

I did see a post that was similar, the user had a setting on their tv called 'full pixel' or something, turning this on or off seemed to fix it for them. Perhaps the OP could do a search to see if they can find that post.

turned out to be a tv setting. i changed it to 16:9 and it worked. it didn't effect anything except the ATV2. thanks for the help
