Well, looks like its still gone in Beta 5. In fact, under Settings->Music, the Lyrics & Podcast Info option is completely gone. Hopefully this is just a bug, as I use it all the time.

iOS 5 file from ibooks indicates lyrics should still be available on the ipad. But they're definitely gone. Really, really hoping this is fixed in an update soon.
I, too, would like to have lyrics available on the iPad with iOS 5. For what it is worth, I have sent Apple feedback regarding this.
If you "upgrade" your iPad 1 with iOS5 you will not be able to see your lyrics. I see them on my iPhone and iTouch but not on iPad. This is a HUGE problem for me and lots of other users. I hope Apple gets this fixed soon. I wish I had never upgraded.
