Cannot update iPod Touch
I just purchased a 32GB 3rd gen iPod touch. It is currently running iOS 3.1.3 which I would like to update to a newer version.
First off, when connected to my mac it does not show up in iTunes in the sidebar. The only time it will show up in the sidebar is when I put the iPod into recovery mode. So, putting it in recovery mode and choosing to "Restore and Update" it downloads the 4.3 update but when installing throws some error numbers. Googeling these error numbers brings up many others who have issue but no solutions.
I dont understand why its so hard to update this iPod. And why wont it show in my itunes when its not in Recovery mode?
I've tried different cables, reinstalling itunes, etc.
