Battery Drainage on iPhone 4 (ios 4.3.1) Help Please

Have 2 iPhone 4's (mine-32gb & wifes-16gb), both were running very well all the way till ios 4.2.1, until I updated both phones to ios 4.3, all different kind of problems started, the worst is battery drainage, wifi keeps flactuating between 2 and 3 bars, which ive never experianced before - even while being right next to the router.
gsm signal keeps dropping and goes to search, ever so often, so did a complete factory reset as new phone, which didnt help, then waited till ios 4.3.1, which slightly improved the gsm, but wifi and battery drain is still problem, so did a complete reset as new phone in itunes on both phones, that had no effect at all, then went to Apple genius bar, they confirmed that the reset they do and the one we do at home is slightly different, so i gave the go ahead on both phones, they also asked me to discharge battery then put on charge, which i did, but the battery is still draining rapidly. I really have no idea whats going on. and I can confirm that there are no additional apps or any change to settings since I had the ios 4.2.1, I have also tried deleting mail switch off and re-appling the mail, also network reset, and both home and on/off switch reset, still having problems, basically I ve tried everything that have been suggested, including switching off ping. Is there any one having tried this and still having problems and if they have managed to sort it out, kindly share it with us, Ive noticed too many people are still having this issue, even though some are saying there is an improvement with ios 4.3.1. In my case its made it alot worse, please help, thanks

I am facing a similar issue with my iPhone 4. Everything was working perfectly when I was on iOS 4.2.1 and as soon as I updated to 4.3, my battery drains in less than a day, the entire operating system seems to be running slower (especially all the animations), the phone heats up a lot. Animations for all 3rd party apps are skipped the first time you open it after a restart.

I have also tried restoring (via iTunes & complete reset), turning Ping off, turning off Exchange accounts, but nothing seems to work.

I have no idea if these problems are occurring only with a few phones or all of them.

There is no way for me to even downgrade to 4.2.1

Please let me know if anyone has figured this problem out.
Thanks

I have the same problem. My phone was working fine and battery life was fine until last Friday, April 1. All weekend, I seemed to lose battery very fast. I fully charged it last night. I took it out of the cradle at 5:30am and locked it--100% charge. At 8:00am, after no use, it was down to 78%. By lunch, it was down to 25%, so I turned it off. I took it by the Verizon store and when I turned the power, it was 16%. When I left, 10 minutes later it was 14%. Help!!!User uploaded file

I am using a 3Gs version and I have the same problem since 4.3 (and now 4.3.1) both signal strength and battery life are terrible and there is definitely a performance slowdown that is very noticeable when trying to view information for a contact.

Apple has typically been pretty good about new releases, but I am getting disappointed in the latest couple of updates.

Is there a way to downgrade back to 4.2.1?

Above is the link to iphone feedback, if I may suggest to put down your complains, they might just take notice and do something about it, infact not only have I already done so, but Iam thinking of doing it everyday or whenever I get the chance, if i dont manage to do it everyday, I'll try doing it a few times atleast. This is really annoying, if we have to switch anything off, why get the iphone, I am paying really silly amount of money to get more problems - why? I got the iphone so I can do my emails, have an exchange account for my calendars and use location services, but if I have to turn all of them off, I might as well get the cheapest mobile out there. Come on Apple, this isn't your way of work

My iPhone seemed fine under the iOS4.30 update but now under the 4.31 update I am lucky to get more than 6 hours of battery life on the device. It drains rapidly, whether I am using it or it is sitting idle. Closing apps seems to make little or no difference.

This is seriously affecting the way I use my iPhone. I expect to get a full day of life out of my phone before it needs charging.

Hi all. I'm a user from Russia. Have the same problem with my iPhone 4. Previously I had jail broken iOS 4.1 and there wasn't a single problem with it. Then I decided to try out upgrading to iOS 4.3.1 and this nightmare began!!! Fully charged iPhone with all connections turned off drains in 8 hours while just lying home. I've switched off ping, location services and 3G, wifi, Bluetooth. But it doesn't help. If you've noticed, the time of usage and the time of sleeping coincide. For instance I have got such thing: sleeping time 8 hours and usage time 8 hours. So the problem is that our devices can not fell asleep properly. It's a big problem. Going to return to 4.1 or 4.2.1 and wait until apple fix it. And one more issue, the device sometimes crashes in iPod app or in messages appUser uploaded file I think this firmware update's too laggy( by the way, I have nothing installed, I use only native apps now in order to test my device. And it was restored several times and tuned like a new device.
