headset for voip phone calls?

I have a 2007 macbook pro and I'd like to start using it to make voip phone calls with services like google call. I have an old headset that I used to use on my windows laptop, but I have discovered that the mic won't work on the MBP because apparently it is a line-in port, which only takes sound when the device has its own power.

I went to the Apple Store and asked a sales person what I needed to do this, but he had no idea and said they didn't sell any headsets.

I've seen some USB headsets in other stores, but they are quite pricey. Is there anything else I can use that will make my existing headset work on the MBP?

Thanks.

Maybe I'm blind,

LOL. Not really. You have to keep clicking *"More Results"* to weed through all the headphones that will work on a "desktop, laptop, notebook, etc. computers.
Five minutes later I found - http://store.apple.com/us/product/H0758LL/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY

You can also call the online store & a sales rep will be more than happy to recommend headphones that will work on your computer.

I did miss that "more results" link. Thanks for taking the time to point those out to me, but it's a lot more than I want to spend for the occasional phone call. I was doing a bit more searching and found some cheap usb sound cards that should let me use my current headset.

This one is super cheap ($2.14 including shipping), but I might give it a shot.
